Last Christmas movie to feature unreleased George Michael songs

The Chrissie classic from Wham!, Last Christmas, has inspired a seasonal comedy, and it’s also set to feature unreleased songs from George Michael.
Co-written by Emma Thompson and being directed by Paul Feig, Last Christmas will star Emilia Clarke and Crazy Rich Asians‘ Henry Golding, along with Thompson, and is slated for release at the end of 2019.
The London-set holiday romance will follow Kate (Clarke), who’s latest gig is as a Christmas shop elf. It’s here that she meets Tom (Golding), and her life starts to become all merry and bright and stuff.
A sweet little companion piece for Love Actually then?
As for the reason you likely clicked upon this, while the title song from Wham! will – not surprisingly – feature in the movie, exciting news is that George Michael’s estate have allowed the use of some new and unreleased material.
Naturally, the cruel irony is that Michael died on Christmas day in 2016. We miss him.
